P0706 Transmission Range Sensor
Had a problem with the gearbox stuck in limp home mode, so bought scantool to get a fault code of P0706.
I then cleared the codes swithed off engine, disconnect battery for 20 mins, reconnected the batt and then read again codes again,
Now get warnings come up, Engine Fault. . . . Incorrect Part Fitted. . . . . gearbox Fault.
The ABS and Check engine lights stay on, Handbrake light is on all the time and will not go out.
Cannot move gear selector as release solinoid will not engage.
Now get fault codes P0706 and P1638
She starts but no lights on J gate either, if I release solinoid manually with screwdriver, I can select a gear but still in limp home mode.
Is this how they all die.
She is a 1997 XK8 convertable, any ideas?
