The Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship presented by Certiport, Inc. Is a global competition that tests students’ skills on Microsoft Office Word, Excel ® and PowerPoint ®. Top students are invited to represent their respective countries at the World Championship. Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate (Excel and Excel 2019) Demonstrate that you have the skills needed to get the most out of Excel by earning the Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate Certification. This certification demonstrates competency in the fundamentals of creating and managing worksheets and workbooks, creating cells and ranges, creating tables, applying formulas.

This exam measures competency in creating and managing professional documents for a variety of specialized purposes and situations. The exam covers the ability to customize Word environments to meet project needs and to enhance productivity. Examples of expert-level documents include a business plan, a research paper, a book, a specialized brochure, and a mass mailing.

Due to the continued difficulties resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and international travel restrictions, Certiport has decided to cancel the August 2021 in-person Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) World Championship event and go completely virtual in 2021. This decision was made after considering all alternatives and gathering input from our Certiport partners throughout the world.

National Championships around the globe have been canceled, postponed, or moved to a virtual format. We hope that you understand the need to move the World Championship to a virtual event in 2021 based on the current circumstances.

The 2021 MOS Virtual World Championship is planned to be to be held in the fall of 2021 and will follow the same format as the previous World Championships. National MOS winners will compete alongside other national winners and take a MOS competition exam remotely.

Certiport will share more details in the coming months regarding the competition format and exact dates. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at moschampionship@pearson.com. We hope that you are staying healthy and safe during this time.

What is the MOS World Championship?

The Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship presented by Certiport, Inc. is a global competition that tests students’ skills on Microsoft Office Word, Excel^® and PowerPoint^®. Top students are invited to represent their respective countries at the World Championship. In some countries or regions, students are required to participate in a National Championship, and the winners of that event continue on to the World Championship.

Individual partners/countries may have additional published rules.

How do I compete?

Get certified to compete! When you take a qualifying Microsoft Office Specialist exam in Word, Excel, or PowerPoint, you can enter into the MOS Championship and you could be chosen to represent your country!
